Scissor Lift AWP Operator Training

Program Overview:

The CFTC Scissor Lift AWP Operator Training Program consists of classroom training session supported by videos and PowerPoint presentations followed by a practical operating training and test. This program is recommended for new and existing operators of multiple types of elevated work platforms including boom trucks and aerial work platforms. This program will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to correctly and safely operate your type of elevated work platform specific to your operation.

We provide AWP Scissor Lifttheory and practical training  at our training center everyday or it could be held at  your workplace for  your convenience.

Classroom Training Content:

1. Current applicable legislation
2. Vehicle stability
3. Causes of accidents and injury
4. Stabilizer systems
5. Operator responsibility
6. Pedestrian awareness
7. Powerline clearances
8. Fall protection (equipment specific)
9. Capacity plates
10. Control systems
11. Pre-shift inspection and reporting procedures
12. Work site inspection
13. Hazard awareness

Practical Training (For New Operators):

Participants with limited or no practical operating experience will require practical training prior to practical testing. The duration of practical training varies based on equipment type and aptitude of the operator. 

Practical Testing (For Existing Operators):

Practical operator testing is held on-site at our training center or at your facility and follows the classroom training. The operator is tested individually and put through a series of operating tasks and manoeuvres to assess competency and safety awareness on the equipment. Pre-shift inspection and reporting procedures are also covered. Average testing time is approximately 30 minutes per operator.

1. 2 hour classroom training session at our training center on site at your location;
2. Practical Training and practical operating test

4. Record of training report
5. Written examinations
6. Individual wallet certificates)
